01Our story

Takedown Pack
Made in the UK

Takedown Pack started inside a UK group of online art-supply retailers, when fake copies of its own shops began appearing on domains nobody there had registered.

The fake sites used the group's names and product photos, some of them loaded straight from the real sites' servers. Getting them taken down meant finding out who had sold each domain and who hosted it, which is harder than it sounds once privacy services and Cloudflare are in the way. It then meant writing a report each abuse desk would act on, gathering evidence before the site changed, and remembering to chase the ones that went quiet.

The obvious answer was a brand-protection vendor. The ones we spoke to quoted hundreds to thousands of pounds a month, on contract, for a problem that for most organisations comes up a few times a year.

So the group's ecommerce lead built the tool instead: something that identifies who to report a fake site to, captures the evidence, drafts every report with the facts filled in, and leaves the decision to send with a person. It was built for the group's own websites first. Takedown Pack now makes it available to anyone whose website is being impersonated.

“If anything on this site is unclear or wrong, tell me and I will fix it.” — Leo, founder

02How we work

Five rules we work by.

  1. 01

    A person approves every report.

Nothing is sent to a registrar, host or anyone else until a named person on your side has read the exact text and approved it. There is no auto-send setting, and there will not be one.

  2. 02

    You stay the signatory.

Reports are made in your name, with your reply-to address, because you are the rights holder and the person recipients need to hear from. We prepare and deliver; we do not claim to act for you.

  3. 03

    You verify ownership first.

Before any report can be sent, you prove you control your real domain. A tool that drafts takedown reports must not be usable against sites that belong to someone else.

  4. 04

    We are honest about outcomes.

Registrars and hosts decide for themselves, and some ignore reports. We will never promise a takedown or a timescale. We promise complete, well-evidenced reports, followed up until the fake site is gone or the 30 days are up, and a clear record of what happened.

  5. 05

Pricing is set for the organisations that get impersonated.

Most organisations whose websites are impersonated are not enterprises. They need one fake site dealt with properly, not an annual contract. So the first check is free and a pack is a one-off payment.

Start a takedown

Check the fake site free, then get it taken down.

Paste the address of the fake site. In about 20 seconds you will know who registered it, who hosts it and who can take it down. No account and no card are needed.
